When I learnt that the Malta Environment and Planning Authority had approved three development projects in Malta, I was reminded of a letter by Paul Cassar (The Sunday Times, May 15) in which he complained about the lack of parking facilities in Victoria, Gozo’s main town.

It is in such matters that Mepa baffles me. Two applications had been lodged with Mepa for the creation of two car parks in Victoria, one by the local council offices, and the other by the Cathedral. They have never been given the green light.

In Valletta there are car parks everywhere inside the bastions, but not in Victoria.

Two car parks that will provide a good number of parking spaces will be an asset to parking in the city. They would surely be appreciated by drivers who come to Victoria but do not find a parking space, causing them great inconvenience.

Is it too much to expect Mepa to approve not one, but two car park projects in Victoria?
