San Marino will be hosting the 2017 Games. The decision was taken during yesterday’s General Assembly attended by high-ranking delegates from all nine GSSE countries.
For San Marino, this will be the third time that they will be hosting the Games.
In fact, they organised the first edition way back in 1985 and were also the organisers in 2001.
Meanwhile, a Luxembourg bid to have Rugby Sevens in the next Games did not get the approval of the assembly yesterday.
The Games in Luxembourg will be held between May 27 and June 1, 2013 and the calendar will now include clay shooting and basketball, both missing from the current LieGames.
Squash, however, was omitted from the list.
Gymnastics will make a return, joining athletics, swimming, tennis, judo, indoor shooting, table tennis, cycling (road and mountain bike) and volleyball.
The 2015 Games will be held in Iceland.
