Charged with robbing parents
A 20-year-old Gozitan man was yesteday charged with robbing his parents, threatening and assaulting them.
Lawrence Galea, of Xagħra, pleaded not guilty to stealing more than €233 in cash on Sunday and over the preceding months. He also denied assaulting his parents and threatening them, as well as slightly injuring one of his siblings.
Magistrate Paul Coppini turned down a request for bail and remanded him in custody.
Police Inspector Frank Tabone prosecuted.
