Echoes from the past
A feast of band marches, classical, pop and modern music and traditional skills and food was recently held in Munxar. The activity, entitled Eku mill-Munxar (Echoes from Munxar), was organised by Munxar council for the first time. Bands taking part were Victory of Xagħra, Mnarja of Nadur, Visitation of Għarb and St Joseph Youth Band of Qala. The new parish priest, Fr Michael Said, blessed the bands’ standards. An exhibition featuring Ġużè Aquilina on his 100th birth anniversay was also put up. Prof. Aquilina was born in Munxar.
