The 2010/11 national table tennis league has ended on a very positive note for the Table Tennis Academy as its head coaches and top players dominated the competition.
In the Premier Division, Tibhar cruised to the title, finishing 10 points clear of the second-placed team after going through the league season unbeaten. The team is made up of Academy coaches Mario Genovese and Edward Baldacchino together with Andrew Gambina, one of the most promising players at the Academy.
The First Division was similarly dominated by the St James Hospital team, featuring Academy players Daniel, Marcus and Andrea Portelli and Charles Sammut.
The Table Tennis Academy is presently conducting its summer programme. Training sessions are held daily and foreign coaches are in attendance. The summer school has gained in popularity as in the past years, nine foreign coaches have visited the Academy to oversee training camps.
