A Ford Focus coupe cabriolet is the top prize to be won in a ‘spend and win’ summer competition for customers of HSBC Bank Malta’s Advance proposition.

Customers who use their HSBC Advance Visa credit card for their purchases until July 31 automatically qualify to participate in the competition by earning a virtual ticket for every €100 spent.

Ten customers will be selected at random to take part in a general knowledge quiz which will decide who will drive home in a brand new Focus coupe cabriolet. Nine other participants will win one of a collection of prizes including travel vouchers worth €2,000 and €1,000, LED TVs, an Apple iPad, an Apple iPhone, an Apple iPod, and a digital camera.

Other prizes are to be won in May and June. Each month, five customers will be selected at random to take part in a competition to win travel vouchers worth €1,000 and €500 and Marks and Spencer vouchers worth €300, €200 and €100.

The HSBC Advance Visa card gives holders a credit limit tailored to their needs with an interest-free period of up to 56 days on purchases.

For a small monthly fee, HSBC Advance offers free worldwide multi-trip travel insurance, access to HSBC’s unique rewards scheme with points redeemable for Marks and Spencer vouchers or Air Malta KMiles.

The card comes with purchase protection covering goods purchased locally, abroad and online

Andy Ripley, HSBC’s head of personal financial services, explained the bank had seen a 13 per cent year-on-year increase in overall usage and in particular, at supermarkets.

The competition was an addition to other special offers held throughout the year which aimed to reward customers for their loyalty to HSBC. A typical family of three was able to save up to €345 annually and customers may make further savings by taking advantage of the various discounts and benefits enjoyed with HSBC Advance.
