A woman said to be the mother of former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s love child has hired a Los Angeles legal firm.

Lawyer Michael Saltz said Mildred Patricia Baena, of Bakersfield, was being represented by the firm Jacobson, Russell, Saltz & Fingerman.

The website Radar Online said it had received a letter from the firm challenging “unflattering reports” about the housekeeper.

Mr Saltz said there was no plan to file litigation at this time. He declined to comment further.

Terminator actor Mr Schwarzenegger has admitted fathering a child with a former household employee.

The woman has been identified as Ms Baena by The New York Times and other media.
