Ever wondered Mr. Joe Vella that you are one of the few that still beleives this data, take a look around you and go to job centres and you would know, the figures are decreasing cause they are being struck off from the book indiscrimantely and given courses that they do not need just to strike them off the books!

Well , surely its good news ... but this is only people who are on the etc list .As an unemployed young person I know that some people only go to etc so they can get an allowance, If you are not entitled to one its no use being "on the list" .. only for the hassle to go every week to punch in at a given time, just for the sake of you being counted as an unemployed person . I have been going to etc for a weeks, and I don't find it at all helpful. I get sent job applications, but have never ever heard back from any of them, and on a particular time, I went in person to apply for a position at a company and they said that the job I was applying for was filled in ages ago, and etc were only advertising for it now, hence why no one ever answers any job application. Therefore it makes no sense to use etc, and just rely on newspapers and advertisements from other sources like job websites. I am very sure that we are not as bad as some other countries, but I am unhappy with the etc as a job centre.

@Wayne Caruna: People who refuse to attend the course are struck off, those who do are not struck off. And after all what do you expect to do with untrained people?
