In 2009 there were 12,099 taxpayers born after January 1, 1962 who earned an income ranging between €17,001 and €20,000.

Answering a parliamentary question by Labour MP Charles Mangion, Finance Minister Tonio Fenech said 12,226 others fell into the €20,001–€25,000 bracket; 5,387 earned between €25,001 and €30,000, and 6,656 earned over €30,001.
