RN mine countermeasures ships to visit

Two mine countermeasures ships of the Royal Navy, HMS Ramsay and HMS Quorn,  will be at Grand Harbour between tomorrow and Friday.

The ships are mid way through their journey to the Arabian Gulf where they will operate for the next three years conducting Maritime Security Operations. 

Both Ships carry a crew of around 45, many of them clearance divers whose job is to conduct underwater Explosive Ordnance Disposal. However, the ships also carry a remote controlled submersible. Two general purpose machine guns, along with a 30mm gun and three mini-guns are carried for defence.

Both ships will be berthed at Wine Wharf. They will not be open to the public..
