I do not support fireworks but I have been through a fire incident myself. Fight it on man - we have a very very good medical support hear on the rock both in ITU and in the burns unit. Good luck - I will pray for you.

As per some friends of Raymond Bugeja, he is communicating with the family and he is not in the itu. So hopefully he's completely out of danger and that he'll recover fully. God be with you Raymond.

I wish him a quick recovery & hope that more bloggers should send in their best wishes to fortify his family & give them courage as they might well be worried about his health.
I've started a new paragraph to make it clear that the following comment has nothing to do with the sorry case above-mentioned. To all those inhumane people who purport to be Catholics & persist in denigrating the 'yes' voters, also wishing them to burn in everlasting hell & damnation. And for those who don't care a fig about other people going through 'hell' in their marriage. I don't know who these ill-wishers are exactly as some of them should get an 'Oscar' for doing their double act of being Christian & hypocrites simultaneously.
I don't know who they are, but whatever they are, I'm sure everyone will agree with me...

Wishing my paesano well and hope he'll recover very soon.
Adding a not to Edwin. Are you ok? your "new paragraph" is completely out of place. Take a course in priorities - you need it badly.

If his family were worried about his health, they would have discouraged him in the first place, not to play around with fire, literally.

Whilst I feel the deepest and most sincere sorrow for this dreadful accident, can one (i.e.the polictical party in power) please inform the Maltese public how many more "fireworks incidents" should Malta afford before tightening the grip? Get going. Can anyone confirm if the police are requesting suggesting any changes to the laws after so many incidents?

Depends what mixing process was under way and what composition
type was involved. Compositions using magnesium are very susceptible to water
however this is usually ofsetted by passivating the magnesium using linseed or
paraffin oil. There are also issues when for example sulphur containig compositions
Such as black powder come in contact with chlorate containing compositions in the presence of water.
However these are only suppositions and only good detailed scientific analysis may determine the exact
causes. That said, hope the person involved can make it out of this ordeal.

I am convinced that nothing or no one will ever change in this matter: neither more deaths; more injuries; more protests by the general public; etc. I personally have listed this as an EXTREME SPORT not as a hobby! And, although in true Cristian Charity, I do wish the man a good recovery, I do object to some calling on their Patron Saint to protect him. The next thing we will be proclaiming the past death as Martyrs! I do not want to seem insensitive, but all know the risks they run - or do they? Like with extreme sport, which I hate, they risk is never really a calculated one. Besides, it is always sinful to put ones' life at risk.

It is reported that this person was "mixing" pyrotechnical material. Could the current high humidity in the atmosphere render the chemical mixture unstable and cause the combustion and 'explosion' of the chemicals being mixed ?
Meantime, wishing this man a safe recovery.
