• The St Luke’s Pastoral Centre, Nigret, Rabat, is organising a fund-raising day for the family today from 10.30 a.m.
Among the attractions, one will find roasted pig cooked in the traditional way as well as a wine bar. There will also be various stands displaying arts, crafts and vegetables.
Entertainment will include line dancing, singing and magic for children. There will also be a pet show.

• An activity for the family, organised by Mellieħa council, is being held today between 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. near Selmun Castle.
• The Missions Office of 7, Merchants Street, Valletta, is holding a bazaar every Tuesday and Friday in aid of the missions.
The bazaar is being held at Mgr Alfred Mifsud Street, corner with Carmel Street in Birkirkara. It is open between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and every first Saturday of the month between 9 a.m. and noon.

• The Alfa Romeo Owners Club is meeting today for a drive followed by a fenkata in Baħrija.
The group will meet at Luxol grounds in St Andrews at 11 a.m. and then drive along the coast road to Xemxija by-pass, Għajn Tuffieħa, Mġarr, Mtarfa and Rabat, arriving in Baħrija.
Lunch will be held at 12.30 p.m. at New Life Bar at Baħrija square. Price is €16 for adults and €11 for children and includes house wine, spaghetti as a starter, rabbit, roasted peanuts and cheeselets.
The event is open to members, family and friends. Non-members are also welcome.
• Hospice Malta is holding its 22nd AGM tomorrow at 6 p.m. at 39, Good Shepherd Avenue, Balzan. All members are invited to attend.
• The Physically Handicapped Rehabilitation Fund is holding its biannual general meeting on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the PHRF Centre, Corradino Hill, Paola.
Chairman Georgia Tabone will present a detailed administrative report to all members present. The financial report for 2008-9 will be presented by treasurer Carmen Attard, and members will appoint auditors for 2011-12. Members will elect the council for 2011-13.
• The St Joseph School Past Pupils’ Association (Sliema) is holding a celebration of the Eucharist and the crowning of Our Lady at the Chapel of St Joseph School, Sliema, on Friday, starting at 6.30 p.m. Refreshments will follow.

• The Centre of Ignatian Spirituality in collaboration with the Institute of Pastoral Formation is organising a three-year course in Maltese for those who wish to deepen their spiritual life, offer spiritual direction and guide retreats.
The course, to start in the first week of September, is based on the academic year, with a weekly two-hour meeting in the evening, and also includes a number of weekend seminars during the year.
