• Xagħra parish is celebrating the feast of St Joseph today. Għarb archpriest Mgr Joseph Sultana will lead a solemn Mass with the Chapter and priests at 5 p.m. The Voci Angeliche Choir and orchestra under the direction of Antoine Theuma will take part. Couples who are celebrating their 25th and 50th wedding anniversary are invited to take part. The procession with the statue of St Joseph will be held at 6.30 p.m. The Victory Band will also participate.

• A blood donation session will be held at the Domus in Xagħra today between 8.30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

• The Feast of Mary Help of Christians will be celebrated at the Don Bosco Oratory in Victoria on Tuesday. Students from the Salesian school of Laura Vicuna will participate in a special Mass for children at 9 a.m. A solemn Mass, led by Mgr George Tabone, will be celebrated at 7 p.m., followed the procession with the statue of Our Lady. The Chorus Urbanus will take part.

• Padre Pio prayer groups in Gozo will hold a prayer session at the Capuchins Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces in Victoria on Wednesday at 6.30 p.m. to mark Padre Pio’s birthday. Rosary will be followed by a concelebrated Mass at 7 p.m. The Fjur t’Assisi choir will take part. A donation to help seven seminarians of the CapuchinFriars in Kenya will be made.

• A discussion programme, entitled ‘The Gozo Civic Council – should it be resuscitated?’, will be held atCircolo Gozitano, 6, Sir Adrian Dingli Street, Victoria, on Friday at 8 p.m. The public is invited.

• The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will take part in a concert at San Lawrenz parish church on Friday at 7.15 p.m. Entrance is free.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will be holding a prayer evening at St George’s Basilica, Victoria, on Saturday at 8.30 p.m., followed by Mass at midnight.

• The Bethel Charismatic Group will be holding a prayer meeting at the church of Our Lady of Pompeii, Victoria, on Saturday at 7 p.m.

• The Victoria Scout Group is holding a food and wine evening by the pool at Fort Chambray on Saturday at 8 p.m. Music will be provided by the Hammerhead Band. A DJ and the San Bert Folk Group will also take part. Tickets at €15 for adults and €5 for children under 12 can be obtained from the Scouts’ headquarters on 2155 6497 or7939 8928 until Thursday.

• The Friends of the Sick and Elderly will be organising a charity fair at the football ground next to the Victoria main car park next Sunday between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. A €10 charge will be payable on the day. For more information, call 2155 3336.

• The Sacred Heart Seminary will be holding a wine and pizza evening on June 9. Tickets can be obtained from the school.
