Melita has registered a 50 per cent increase in demand for international bandwidth from its customers in just over a year, the telecoms group said.

Since upgrading clients to broadband internet connections of 20 megabits per second for free for a one-week period, Melita also registered a 10 per cent growth in bandwidth demand.

Melita has provided free upgrades to 50,000 households having 5 and 10 megabit clientsto mark the company’s 20th anniversary.

Over the same one-year period, the company registered a 100 per cent increase in clients upgrading their broadband internet connections to at least 10 megabits per second.
