Obituary
BORG. On May 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, CHARLES, aged 77, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Mary, his beloved children Jean and Alfie, and his wife Veronica, his adored grandchildren Lara, Lisa, Tara and Sean and his relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 2.30 p.m. at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
BROWN. On May 18, FREDDIE (ex-Treasurer, Valletta FC), aged 72, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Alice, his sons Simon and Mark, his grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, Vince and his wife Carmen, Tessie and her husband Frans, Maryanne and her husband Elias, Joe and his wife Rita, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for St Dominic’s parish church, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Ann, his sons Andrew and his wife Hannah and Richard, grandchildren Ella, Thomas and Noah, his sisters Doris, Carmelina and her husband Victor Farrugia, Miriam, Rita and her husband Joe Sant, Vivienne, Tina, Maryanne, his sister-in-law Laura Buttigieg, his auntie Rita Dimech, cousins, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Thomas, Pamela and her husband Peter, Jeremy and Shirley, her grandchildren Patrick and his wife Alison, Claire and her husband Michael, Simon and his wife Rachael, Sarah and her husband Jonathan, Laura and Luke, Elaine and Vince, Christian and Diane, AnneMarie and Alain, Rosie, Daniel and his wife Karen and Emily, her great-grandchildren, neighbours and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 2 p.m. at St Julians parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (back gate). The family thank the staff at Mater Dei Hospital for their dedication and care. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Spiritual care workshop for health professionals
A two-day workshop for health care professionals on basic competence in spiritual care will be held on June 3 and 4 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Mount St Joseph retreat house, Tarġa Gap, Mosta.
Led by Fr Eckhard Frick, a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst and lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Philosophy in Munich, the workshop is aimed at doctors, nurses, volunteers with the terminally ill, medical students, paramedics, psychologists and psychiatrists.
Participants will practise the FICA (faith, importance and influence, community and address) spiritual assessment interview approach suggested by Christina Puchalski and discuss how to decide upon interventions in the Maltese context. Bazaar in Lija
The Domenican Sisters of Lija will be organising a bazaar to fund the restoration of their convent’s St Peter’s chapel at 13, Sir Ugo Mifsud Street, Lija. The bazaar will be open between 8.30 a.m. and 7 p.m., between June 15 and 22.
