At least one more stork has been shot down in the Ta' Cenc/Mgarr ix-Xini area this morning as it flew in a flock of 75 which headed from Anchor Bay towards Gozo.

Readers reported shooting at storks this morning over Sannat.

BirdLife spokesman Geoffrey Saliba said that Mepa environmental officers and the police had been informed and BirdLife was monitoring the situation.

The association yesterday reported incidents of shooting at a large flock of stocks which was over Malta and three men are reported to have been arrested.

The shooting has also been condemned by the St Hubert's Hunting Association.
