Accused of making porn films with boys

A 67-year-old man from Birżebbuġa was yesterday charged with making pornographic videos of two young boys performing sexual acts on each other.

Michael Muscat, who stood dishevelled in the dock, is believed to have paid the boys between €15 and €30 each time he shot a film at his house, where he lives alone.

He is also alleged to have taken part in the films and had the children perform sexual acts on him.

The boys are now 12 and 15 years old and the videos were allegedly made when they were under the age of nine.

The police arrested Mr Muscat two days ago and found a lot of pornographic material on his computer, including videos of the boys, sources told The Times.

At the time of the arrest, the police found the older boy lingering outside the house.

During yesterday’s arraignment, Mr Muscat pleaded not guilty to filming indecent videos of minors, defiling the boys and participating in sexual acts with them.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli remanded him in custody after taking into consideration the seriousness of the charges.

Police Inspector Priscilla Caruana prosecuted. Lawyers Josè Herrera and Veronique Dalli appeared for the man.
