Birkirkara FC refuses resignations - senior coach will not get new contract

The Birkirkara FC committee has rejected the resignation of Joe Abela as Technical Advisor, and Joe B Grech as Team Manager. In their resignation letters, sent to the club earlier this week, they expressed their deep regret over what happened in the FA Trophy semi-final match against Floriana FC, when in the last substitution, the team ended up playing with five foreign players. They explained that although that it was a genuine mistake, they still felt responsible and that they should resign.

The committee said it did not accept their resignations.

The committee also decided it was not in a position to offer new contracts to the Senior Coach Paul Zammit and Assistant Coach Branko Nisevic. The Club would like to thank them for their hard work, dedication and integrity.

The club saif it would  be releasing the players Nikola Vukanac, Ibrahim Babatunde, Michael Fraser, Rodolfo Kumbrevicius and Andrei Agius.
