Careerpassport.eu’s new job networking site Jobigloo.com has seen more than 3,600 unique visitors and 49,000 page views in just three weeks from launch, careerpassport.eu’s country director Josef Said told The Times Business.

Just over 60 companies have joined the site with 34 employers and human capital management consultants like Konnekt, Pentasia, P5+, Quad, Muovo, and Betting Connections advertising 240 posts.

“The advantages of posting vacancies on Jobigloo are increasing exposure to an employers’ brands besides the job, and allowing candidates to be redirected to the employers’ sites and increasing traffic in the process,” e-business manager Matthew Caruana explained.

“Besides, applications can be managed online and employers would be joining the careerpassport.eu platform which already boasts 12,000 job seekers.”

Job seekers present on careerpassport.eu can apply for jobs posted on Jobigloo by inputting their user name and password and selecting which employer can access their singular profile.

“The concept of customisable CVs has been made largely redundant because candidates with a LinkedIn profile have an all-encompassing résumé,” Mr Said added. “Candidates seeking a presence on careerpassport.eu can import all their professional, personal and contact information from their LinkedIn account. Applying for posts will take no more than 39 seconds.”

Jobigloo is the latest venture by the four-member team behind careerpassport.eu, the recruitment software solution, which has been in the making since March 2008 and launched last November. It is currently used by international toy maker Playmobil, financial services provider Portman International, Kasco Foods, and Konnekt with which it has common shareholding.

Mr Caruana added careerpassport.eu was currently finalising terms with the Malta operations of two leading international brands, a significant endorsement of the added value the software sought to provide to organisations’ HR function.

He explained careerpassport.eu stemmed from trends emerging from the recruitment industry as organisations sought to centralise volumes of information relating to talent search accumulated by HR departments.

“Careerpassport.eu allows employers to store all CVs received in one place,” Mr Caruana continued. “Employers are able to write notes on a promising candidate and fish it out a year later. There is also a considerable drive for employer branding locally as employers seek to connect with candidates as they would with customers to make them more desirable to work for; 98 per cent of the 300 websites we surveyed had their own portal and 95 per cent had a product section but only 40 per cent of those had a careers section.”

Careerpassport.eu also allowed updates from employers to reach candidates instantly, allowing feedback to flow to candidates without burdening in-house HR departments.

The social media-style platform links to LinkedIn and users are able to share with other networking sites.

Employers using the system log in to view candidate profiles, conduct searches, and write internal notes. Careerpassport.eu is a software-as-a-service solution that provides auto-shortlisting and translates into considerable savings on recruitment agency fees.

Organisations only need to reconfigure their domain to integrate careerpassport.eu with their own portal, with minimal fine-tuning and customisation.

There is a set-up charge, an annual maintenance fee, and nominal fees for additional users.

Mr Said emphasised careerpassport.eu empowered employers and candidates to match-make and gauge local demand and supply for skills and talent for particular posts.

Asked whether he was killing off Konnekt, the recruiting agency that was his first business, Mr Said replied that had his team not come up with the platform, someone else would have.

The two were separate business ventures, offering different solutions to different client needs, he said.

“We just love IT, we know it is enabler, and we want to export the platform,” he added. “I am confident it will be successful. Konnekt’s business operation has improved dramatically since we implemented careerpassport.eu. We can keep in touch with candidates, we can search better and match better. It improves efficiency and responsiveness.”
