Daniel Bajada ended the season’s commitments with Serie B1 side ASD Fiaccola on a positive note when last weekend his team beat Tenute Zinni Casalbordino “Il Sole” 5-4 in Castellana Grotte, Bari.

Malta champion Bajada, currently ranked no.204, managed two identical 3-0 wins at the expense of Franco Spagnoli and Cristian Campagnari. He then suffered a 3-1 defeat to no. 54 seed Li Weimin.

Fiaccola have now finished joint- third with Libertas Sassari.

Next weekend, Bajada will feature in the National Championships at the University Sports Complex and then will return to Italy for a one-week training camp with the national team ahead of the GSSE in Liechtenstein.

PBC’s new coach

PBC table tennis coaching centre have added coach Nigel Cryer to their technical department. He will be working jointly with head coach Peter Borg Cardona.

Cryer played table tennis in the Northern Manchester League and is an English Table Tennis Association qualified coach.

Coaching sessions are held regularly at St Aloysius during weekdays in the summer months.
