Red and white carnations were distributed to passers-by in front of the Law Courts today by the Malta Gay Rights Movement as its members explained that gays were no different than left-handed people.

The activity was held to celebrate the International Day against Homophobia. Two blackboards were set up and people were asked to write what they could do for equality to be achieved.

The movement, is later on today moving on to university, where it will be distributing more flowers.

It is tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. holding a peaceful protest outside the River of Love Christian Fellowship at the Sapphire Suite, Zebbug following claimes by pastor Gordon-John Manche about the 'conversion' of three formerly gay youths.

The aim of the protest is o show that there is nothing wrong in being gay and that conversion treatment is harmful because it made gay people uncomfortable with themselves.
