Mepa has filed a judicial protest against the UHM and the Mepa Professional Workers' Union, calling on them to withdraw a directive for workers not to work from  Hexagon House.

The Authority said that the workers have not been working from their offices after the unions on February 11 issued a directive telling them not to work from Hexagon House because the building was a potentially an unsafe working environment. The workers had complained of nauseating smells.

Mepa said independent experts had in the past few days concluded that there was no danger to health and safety and therefore there was no reason for workers to be absent. The Authority said it had also taken measures to ensure that all operators in the area around Hexagon House observed regulations.
