Designer Julien Macdonald will be present for a fashion show eaturing his own brands, Diamond and Star, at the Debenhams store, The Point, Tigné, on Saturday, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The internationally acclaimed designer will also be meeting the public.

The British fashion icon got his first knitting lessons from his mother at an early age. Later, following advanced studies in fashion design and textiles, his emerging talent captured the attention of several designers and fashion enthusiasts.

His fan base grew to include Karl Lagerfeld and the late Isabella Blow. He has worked for fashion houses such as Alexander McQueen and Givenchy and some of his satisfied customers include Shirley Bassey, Cheryl Cole, Kylie Minogue and even Barbie.

In 2006, he was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) award for his services to fashion.

Julien Macdonald has been part of the prestigious line-up of designers who have presented exclusive ranges for Debenhams since 2003.

The Julien Macdonald Star collection features a day to evening range, designed to give a sexy but subtle look during the day and a more glamorous look for a night out.

The collection includes versatile pieces such as satin shirts, jersey dresses, knitwear, smart trousers and pencil skirts that can be worn for work or dressed up for a night out.

The daytime range has a special focus on trims and metalwork, while the evening range emphasises on jersey dresses, strong colours, prints and embellishments. The striking colours include black, white and red embellished with animal prints and trims in fine fabrics.

Diamond, another collection by Macdonald, presents flattering and glamorous party pieces, perfect for a night on town and fun and flirty separates for a relaxed daytime look.

Dresses, in bold colours and prints, are cut to skim and sculpt the figure and are adorned with eye-catching embellishments. Asymmetric necklines come with high hems and detailed with beading, graphic, digital prints or manipulated pleats.

Diamond comes in a wide range of fun colours including aqua, fuchsia, Mediterranean blue, orange, and shades of red, combined with strong, tropical and animal prints.

Both ranges are exclusively available at Debenhams. For more information, visit the Debenhams website at www.debenhams.com.mt/ or the Debenhams Malta Facebook page.
