A seminar entitled ‘Learning Outcomes: A Bologna Process Training Conference’ will be held at The Palace, Sliema, on Friday between 9 a.m. and 3.30 p.m.

The seminar is being organised by the European Union Programmes Agency and the Bologna Experts Group Malta, in collaboration with the Malta Qualifications Council and the National Commission for Higher Education.

The seminar will be focused on the further development of learning outcomes, particularly the different approaches towards writing learning outcomes. Two international experts will address this issue and feedback will be given by academics, administrative staff, students and employers.

Working group sessions will be held to enable further discussion on approaches to designing student-centred learning outcomes.

The seminar will also discuss the technical approaches needed to transform ‘outcomes’ in programmes of higher education into ‘learning outcomes’.

The target audience for the seminar is stakeholders in the education sector, particularly professionals involved in higher education.

Those interested can register for the seminar by sending an e-mail to bologna.eupa@gov.mt. This preliminary registration will be followed by an official invitation from the organisers.

Bookings are free of charge and on a first-come, first-served basis.

The booking deadline is Wednesday at noon.

The European Commission, through the National Teams of Bologna Experts (2009 – 2011), is funding this activity.

More information about the Bologna Process can be found at www.eupa.org.mt.
