Finance Minister Tonio Fenech told Parliament that the amount of VAT refunds issued to companies or individuals in EU member states according to the Eighth Council Directive was €948,789.48 in 2009 and €1,050,328.77 last year.

Answering questions by Anthony Agius Decelis (PL), Mr Fenech said the VAT refunds paid to companies or individuals in non-member states under the 13th Council Directive in 2010 was €264,793.15.
