Traffic lights for black spot still off
How long does it take to activate traffic lights?
We finally got the traffic lights near the Diplomat Hotel, a dangerous spot which has been begging for them for ages. The lights have been erected and ready for almost five weeks.
Why does it take so long to turn on the switch?

What's really needed along the Sliema promenade are random but regular mobile speed traps, using hand held devices. Hundreds of cars each day flout the speed regulations alongthis stretch of road. Alternatively, speed humps every 25 meteres would be an alternative as would making the whole of the road along the seafront one-way and narrowing the road severely.
The problem is that the Police see these dangers but do absolutely nothing about them.
