Bayern Munich are reported to have made German league rivals Schalke a bid of at least €21 million for goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, ac-cording to Bild.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper has already told the Royal Blues he will not extend his contract which expires at the end of next season and Bayern have made no secret of their desire to sign him before next season.

“Yes, we had a decent conversation,” Schalke director Horst Heldt told Bild when asked about the improved deal.

According to Bild, Bayern have offered Schalke €18 million for Neuer, plus up to seven million worth of performance-related bonuses of which at least three million are guaranteed.

Bild claims the new bid im-proves the previous offer Bayern made for the highly-rated Schalke goalkeeper at a meeting in Duesseldorf on April 27.
