Five months after the explosion at Transport Malta’s Sa Maison offices, employees were yesterday evacuated after an anonymous caller said there was a bomb.
The call, made at 10.30 a.m., was found to be a hoax when members of the armed forces’ bomb disposal unit searched the building.
The police said Transport Malta’s Floriana offices were also evacuated and searched as a precaution.
On December 2, a handmade bomb was dangled outside TM’s second floor office window at Sa Maison and went off while a meeting was in progress.
Major Peter Ripard, a traffic consultant, lost his left leg in the blast and Konrad Pulé, the chief officer of land transport within the authority, was slightly injured.
Police are carrying out further investigations.
