The Malta Standards Authority said today that it has banned  ‘Griptight’ baby soothers, which are being  distributed for free with Milupa Cereal products, as they have been found to be faulty and pose a serious risk to babies.

The hazard  is caused by the tearing off of the teat from the soother, thus creating a serious risk of suffocation for the baby using it.

The Authority urged parents to stop their children using the soothers. Retailers were told to withdraw the product.
