Aġenzija Appoġġ and Aċċess Community Resource Centre in Vittoriosa, together with St Margaret College and the Foundation for Educational Services, are seeking volunteers to help in the upcoming Klabbsajf.
Klabbsajf provides activities within the community for children aged five to 11 during their summer holidays. The aim is to stimulate children’s creativity and sensitivity towards socio-cultural subjects by means of various educational practices.
Volunteers’ roles include helping in the planning and preparation of these activities, monitoring children and carrying out the activities with them.
The main theme for this year will be ‘Malta Through the Ages’. Sessions focusing on this theme will include drama, outings, sports activities and crafts.
All volunteers will receive the necessary training in planning skills, basic child development, child minding, and team building. This will help volunteers to feel part of the team as well as to be better equipped to participate in the field. Training is expected to start at the beginning of July.
Klabbsajf will start in July and end in September. Volunteers will be required to attend twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8.30 a.m. till 12.30 p.m.
A copy of the application form can be downloaded from www.appogg.gov.mt and sent either by e-mail to ilona.attard@gov.mt or by post to Klabbsajf, Aċċess Community Resource Centre, Triq San Dwardu, Birgu, BRG 9030.
