‘Save the beach’ campaign

In the run-up to World Environment Day on June 5, Corona Extra has launched a ‘Save the beach’ campaign to promote the preservation of European beaches.

Corona Extra, imported in Malta by Farsons, is also taking partin this year’s campaign and is organising a beach clean-up at Ġnejna today between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

A shortlist of beaches across Europe requiring a clean-up, including some in Malta, have also been nominated on a Facebook page and on the website www.savethebeach.org. The beach attracting the most votes by the public will be cleaned up by Corona Extra.

The winning beach will be announced on Wednesday in Rome by one of the world’s top tennis players.

World Environment Day is one of the largest events of its kind aimed at promoting key environmental attitudes that are fundamental to driving change.

It includes colourful activities such as street rallies, green concerts and parades.
