The University of Malta has been accepted as a member of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
AUF rector Prof. Bernard Cerquiglini, accompanied by Europe and Magreb general manager Bernard Leduc and Magreb general delegate Alex Brayle, recently visited Malta to celebrate the University’s membership.
AUF is a partner of institutions of higher education and research that have chosen French as the language of instruction. It offers programmes of cooperation to support research and education in a wide range of academic fields.
The University of Malta’s admission to AUF will provide new opportunities regarding French language training and culture in Malta and will allow the University to benefit from the programmes implemented by the agency, through grants and partnerships.
This will enhance the current prospects of university students following teacher-training courses in French and of students following courses in Translation and Interpretation Studies.
It will also create the possibility of establishing important contacts with prestigious French universities at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
