Perry’s property magazine, out with The Sunday Times tomorrow, features a sculpture by Andrew Diacono, one of Malta’s most prominent artists.
Entitled Il-konvenju, meaning a legal promise of sale, the sculpture was commissioned by Perry’s managing director Francis Spiteri Paris in 1995 and has been exhibited at the company’s office ever since, never failing to solicit comments by its mere presence.
It depicts a promise of sale on a house of character, with a newly betrothed couple buying from an older local couple. Everybody seems tense, except for the notary, who is emotionally detached, and the estate agent, who, as master of ceremonies, seems pleased with the proceedings.
The artist, in the creation of this work of art, was not given any instruction on what to do, and his depiction of such a scenario was left totally up to his interpretation.
Perry’s property magazine is designed by Mediamaker Ltd and printed by Progress Press, both members of the Allied Group of Companies.
