Melita Mobile ‘reconfirmed’ fastest growing operator

Melita Mobile has been re-confirmed Malta’s fastest growing mobile operator by recent statistics published by the Malta Communications Authority, the telecoms group said.

Figures released by the regulator show that by the end of last year, Melita Mobile accounted for almost 16 per cent of all mobile outgoing minutes made by users. This is a significant increase when compared to just under eight per cent share of minutes in the equivalent period of 2009, Melita said.

Chief operations officer Ludolf Rasterhoff said more customers were switching to Melita’s offerings, including the Freedom Pack and the new pay monthly “Magic” plans.

Melita said it gained the most new customers from mobile users opting to port their number from one operator to another last year.
