Application for demolition of Metropole Hotel approved
An application for the demolition of the Metropole Hotel in Dingli Street, Sliema, and its replacement with apartments, was this morning unanimously approved by the planning authority.
The application is for the building of an underground car park on four levels, a commercial outlet at ground floor, five storeys of apartments and overlying penthouses.
The development will also cover the site of an adjacent town house in Dun Karm Galea Street. The façade of the house will be retained.
There will be 90 parking slots in the basement garage and 32 apartments of various sizes.
The Metropole Hotel is currently disused.
It was noted in the case officer's report that the development was acceptable and the proposal complied with structure and local plan policies.

Don't let the facade mislead you. You might have to go down a few steps into the balcony ... ideal for senior citizens!!!

More Apartments?
How many unsold apartments do you have now in Malta? 30 - 40,000
Madness, how about selling all the ones that have been built and stay empty
Malta = Ireland - when i bursts it will take many a bank with it
