69 cases of theft, vandalism, reported at Addolorata Cemetery
The authorities have so far this year received 69 reports of thefts and vandalism at the Addolorata Cemetery, Health Minister Joseph Cassar said in Parliament.
He said the Environmental Health Directorate and the police were working to clamp down on such cases and find those responsible.
The directorate has started the process for the installation of CCTV cameras at the cemetery and it also plans to introduce better control at access points.

Only the lowest form on Earth would go into a cemetary to steal items or vandelise it. These people need to be caught and made an example of.

The lowest scum on earth would do this.
What about the watchmen?
What security is there?
Stolen statues or other heavy things are not something someone could put in his pocket.
How come no one hears or sees anything?
Are the watchmen acting like the three proverbial monkeys?

The first thing that should be done is ensure an adequate perimeter wall. There are places, namely where there are new graves, that there is no perimeter wall and access is very easily obtained through the adjacent fields. Then obviously we need CCTV cameras and patrols.

The Honourable Minister whilst responding to a question would have been better advised to have already got in motion preventative measures; one just cannot accept 69 cases of theft and vandalism. Action now whilst the talking is going on between the Ministry and the Police, consideration ought to be given to having permanent patrols inside the cemetery just CCTV is not enough as perpetrators can still disguise their appearance.

Stealing and vandalising the dead - a new low perpetrated by low life forms - obviously.
