Every time I enter Valletta I am gripped by a deep feeling of anger at the way our money is being used to deface our beautiful city.

To make matters worse, just a few steps away from City Gate one is stopped and asked to help some Church charity or other.

Now, I ask, wouldn’t it have been more reasonable for the government to spend those millions on really needy and urgent causes, like for example the improvement of our health service and for providing expensive, life-saving drugs which some people have gone bankrupt to obtain?
