Obituary

BUGEJA. On April 17, ANDREW, aged 53, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Mandy and her husband John Miller and Debbie Bugeja, his grandchildren Kane and Isis, his children’s mother Doreen, his brothers and sisters Gloria Farrugia, Bella Mangion, Norman Bugeja, Aurora Ellul, Tanya Bartolo and their respective spouses, his partner Miriam, in-laws nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital at 1 p.m. tomorrow for St. Julians parish church where praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On April 24, PAWLA née Zahra, of St Paul’s Bay, passed peacefully away, aged 87, surrounded by her loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Tony and his wife Katie, Doris widow of Jimmy Kerr, Rita and her husband Raymond Merrill, Maria, Gino and Grace widow of her son Karmenu who resides in Australia, her siblings and their respective families, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital, today at 2.45p.m. for Our Lady of Sorrows parish church, St Paul’s Bay, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Ħniena Divina cemetery in St Paul’s Bay. No flowers by request but donations to the Ursoline Creche in Sliema, will be greatly appreciated.

HERBERT – ANNA MARIA (Mary) aged 92, widow of Horace of Floriana, living in Rabat, passed peacefully away to meet the Risen Lord surrounded by her loving family on Easter Sunday. She leaves to mourn her great loss her five sons and daughters-in-law Brian and Sylvia, Dennis and Rose, Robert and Agnes, John and Lynne, Richard and Maria, her only daughter MaryRose wife of Charles Bonello, her most beloved grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Publish parish church, Floriana where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

RANIOLO. On April 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, ITALO aged 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Josephine née Pisani, his children Annamaria and her husband Peter Grima, Marco and his wife Monique née Dougall, Sandro and his wife Christine Pillsbury, Daniela and her husband Luigi Sansone, Francesca and her husband Edward Borg, his grandchildren Sebastian, Thomas, Katrina, Georgia, India, Marc, Ella, Valentina and Matteo, his sister Marion, wife of Anthony Parnis, his mother-in-law Carmen Pisani, his in-laws Carmel and Karen, Mary and Charles, Alice widow of Salvinu, Michael, Frank and Vivienne, Lilian and Joe, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2.15 p.m. for St Sebastian, Qormi, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Community Chest Fund are greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA BRIFFA. On April 24, MARY, daughter of the late Calcedon and Rosina Ciantar and widow of Dr Joseph Vella Briffa, former resident of St Julians and Mellieħa, passed away suddenly and peacefully at the age of 79, surrounded by her family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her deep loss her two daughters and their husbands, Rosa and her husband Francis Hunt, Anna Maria and her husband Jamie Clarke, her grandsons Joshua, Christopher, Timothy, Daniel Hunt and Zac Clarke and her granddaughter Isabella Rosa Clarke. She was an exceptional, warm, generous and loving mother and Nanna as well as wife and daughter and will be sorely missed and forever remembered. She also leaves to mourn her loss other relatives and many friends and colleagues. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday at 9.15 a.m. for Mellieħa parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 10 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be appreciated. The family regret that they are unable to receive visitors. A prayer is solicited.

Requiem Mass

A Mass for the repose of the soul of BERNARD BORDA will be said at the Ursuline Creche chapel, Sliema, today at 6 p.m.

Voting documents

Those eligible to vote in the May 28 divorce referendum and who have not received their voting document may apply in person at their local police station between today and May 22.

Voters must present their identity card. The documents can be collected between Mondays and Fridays from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.; on Saturdays and Sundays, including May 1, 8 and 15, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., and on May 22 between 8 a.m. and noon.

St Paul’s Bay residents can collect their voting documents from the Qawra police station, while residents of Iklin, Lija, Marsascala, Pembroke, Pietà, Swieqi, Ta’ Xbiex and Fontana can collect them from the local council offices.
