The driver of a Toyota van suffered serious injuries when the vehicle flipped over and came to rest on one side in Tal-Balal Road, San Ġwann, yesterday afternoon.

The police said the 22-year-old driver from Swieqi suffered fractures but his injuries are not life threatening. Rescue personnel freed the driver from the overturned van and he was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

Traffic heading towards Naxxar came to a halt for a while as the van blocked the road.
