Man held at airport over cocaine find
A Romanian national was held by the police at the Malta International Airport last Saturday after he was found to be carrying about two kilos of cocaine, the police said yesterday. The drug was hidden in a false compartment of a suitcase the man, who is 62 years old, was carrying on a flight from Zurich.
The arrest was coordinated by the police and customs officers.
The man is expected to be charged in court with the importation and trafficking of the drug.
