A group of some 30 Libyans, including six children, held another demonstration in Valletta today, calling on the government to recognise the Benghazi-based Transitional Council, which is spearheading efforts to oust Col Gaddafi.
The group marched from City Gate down Republic Street, carrying Libyan monarchy flags and placards calling on Col Gaddafi and his family to leave Libya.
Other placards called on Malta and the EU as a whole to 'do what you preach' and recognise the council.
There were also pleas for the bombing of Misrata by Gaddafi forces to stop.
The demonstrators praised France, Qatar and Italy for having recognised the council, while they condemned Russia, India and China, which, they said, were assisting the Gaddafi regime for economic reasons.
Foreign Minister Tonio Borg last week could not say when Malta would recognise the council but failure to recognise the council did not mean approval of the Gaddafi government.
