Roma v Chievo preview

Roma will attempt to silence their critics tomorrow when they host Chievo at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Giallorossi have endured a nightmarish April having lost all their home games.

Defeats to Juventus and Palermo have left Roma seven points behind Lazio, who hold the last Champions League qualifying spot.

Roma also fell 1-0 at home in their Coppa Italia first-leg semi-final to Inter Milan in midweek.

The Giallorossi will take on Inter in the return leg on May 11.

"We believe that we can overturn this result next month," said Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

"We were not inferior to Inter.

"We have won in Milan many times and there is no reason why we cannot do so again.

"For us it's important to reach the final."

In sixth place with just five matches remaining in Serie A, Roma are running out of time.

"We will try to give our all in our remaining matches," said De Rossi.

"But we know it is complicated because it's a big gap."

The setbacks to Palermo and Inter have come following last weekend's sale of Roma to American businessman Thomas DiBenedetto.

Roma will be bolstered by the return of the team's top scorer Francesco Totti, who missed the midweek clash against Inter through suspension.

Totti has found the back of the net 12 times for Roma in Serie A this season.

Chievo will travel to the Eternal City knowing a win would guarantee them Serie A football next season.

The Flying Donkeys are on 39 points after last weekend's 2-0 triumph over Bologna.

"This was a very good result for us and gave us a big boost in confidence ahead of our game at Roma," said Chievo coach Stefano Pioli.
