If Malta votes for divorce, the grandparents’ role is going to be a much bigger burden than it already is.

These last few years they have been relied on increasingly for family support and unconditional love, if not also for financial help. They have been playing a vital role in Maltese society by providing childcare for working parents.

With divorce, children’s stability and security may suffer greatly if, for some obvious reasons, these healthy relations are cut off completely.

Grandparents can be relied on completely because they have a steadier influence and are much more even in character than the parents who divorce.
