GymStars Gymnastics members were presented with their badges and certificates at the end of the annual Fundamental and Pro-fiency Award programme, based on the structure of British Gymnastics, during an Open Day held recently in Tarxien.
The Award Scheme at the GymStars club, which is a non-competitive event for all mem-bers, is aimed at helping youngsters develop their essential basic skills in movement and co-ordination.
These skills also play an essential role in everyday life and considered fundamental in all types of physical training.
The Award Scheme also provides a structured and progressive programme for the teaching of gymnastics.
This format has been designed as an incentive to encourage gymnasts to work through the whole scheme while honing their skills and interest in the sport.
During the Open Day, members from the gymnastics Development and Competitive Teams produced an exhibition display which was very much appreciated by those present at the club for the occasion.
Meanwhile, GymStars Gymnastics and the YADA GymStars Academy have again joined forces for the Gymnastics and Dance Festival at the Cottonera Sport Complex on June 7.
The show is among the biggest events for both organisations where over 600 spectators will be present.
Active Summer Club
In summer, GymStars will introduce another programme, Go Active Summer Club, where different sports activities will be held under one roof.
This year, sessions will be held between 7 a.m. and 2.30 p.m.
