A 48-year-old man who wreaked havoc on his Mosta home in Feniċi Street, after being evicted over separation proceedings, is expected to be arraigned with his elder brother today. Police sources said the domestic dispute occurred at about 5 p.m. on Monday when the man turned up outside his home and found the lock of the front door had been changed by his 45-year-old wife and an eviction order by the court stuck on the wall. Instead of obeying the court’s order, the man called his 50-year-old brother from Qormi to come and help him as he attempted to bulldoze the house, the sources said.

His wife, who was inside at the time of the incident with one of their two children, dashed outside shouting for help when she realised what was happening.

The police were immediately on site and attempted to calm down the man but he resisted arrest and taming his temper proved harder than expected – the police had to use pepper spray twice and break the bulldozer’s cabin window to coerce him of the vehicle.

The machinery was confiscated. Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera is conducting an inquiry.
