An Egyptian who lives in Gozo has been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to burgling a house in Paola on Sunday and handling stolen property.
45-year-old Ibrahim Hafes Ibrahim El Digli, 45, who lives in Xaghra was charged with stealing jewellery from 86-year-old Lorenza and her 78-year-old sister Tereza Cilia at around 8 a.m. on Sunday.
He was caught inside the house carrying some jewellery items.
Another two men yesterday pleaded guilty of the same crime. They had been arrested by the police who followed their car which had seen speed off from the scene of the crime.
