Torres will score, Ancelotti insists

Fernando Torres  will open his goalscoring account for Chelsea before the end of the season, Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti predicted today.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea's match with Birmingham City tomorrow, Ancelotti was adamant that £50 million ($81.5m) striker Torres would find the net during Chelsea's remaining six games of the season.

Torres has not scored in more than 11 hours of game time since joining Chelsea from Liverpool in the January transfer window.

British bookmakers have even begun taking bets on whether the Spanish international will finally get off the mark for his new club.

However Ancelotti predicted that Torres  would break his duck this season.

"He will score," said Ancelotti. "He can score if he plays."

However, Ancelotti refused to say whether Torres  would start against Birmingham on Wednesday following Chelsea's 3-1 win at West Bromwich Albion last weekend, when Torres was left on the bench.

"It's very difficult to change the team that played so well against West Brom, not just for the result, not just for the performance. They did very well against West Bromwich," he said.

Ancelotti said Torres was not receiving any special training to help him end his drought.

"We are working with him like we are with the other strikers. He has exercises to score -- shooting, crossing -- but nothing different from the others," Ancelotti said.

"I think he wants to score and he's not happy for this reason. I would like to see my players every time happy and with confidence. It's not a good moment for Fernando, but I want to do my best to support him."
