Two arrested after jewellery theft
The police have arrested two people, aged 31 and 34, after jewellery was stolen from the residence of two elderly women in Paola this morning.
The police said that thieves broke into the women's house in Triq il-Palma and stole the jewellery, the value of which is not yet known.
The 86 and 78 year old residents were not in and were informed of the theft by the police.
A suspicious car in the same road sped off as soon as its occupiers noticed the police. The police followed the car and stopped in Civil Aviation Road, Luqa.
An inquiry is being held.

On a daily basis undesirable characters are lurking around at the lower part of Triq il-Palma hill. Maybe the investigation should consider why and who is attracting this type of rubbish to the whereabouts.
