Chorus Urbanus recently gave a concert of sacred music at St James church in Victoria.

Throughout the concert, which featured mainly Marian chants, a film documentary on modern day sufferings was also shown on a big screen.

Taking part were sopranos Ruth Portelli and Hilda Grima, Patricia Borg (alto) and George Borg (bass).

Soloists Yvonne Galea, Joseph Camilleri and Noel Galea also took part.

The choir was under the direction of John Galea.

A poem dedicated to Our Lady by Frank Mercieca was recited by Frank Cassar.

The concert was organised by the Gozo Cultural Council in collaboration with Mgr George Bezzina, rector of the church.
