• Today, Palm Sunday, Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead the blessing of palm and olive branches at the Cathedral in Victoria at 10 a.m., followed by Mass at 10.30 a.m.
On Maundy Thursday, there will be morning prayers at the Cathedral at 8.30 a.m., followed by Mass of Holy Chrism at 9 a.m. Mgr Grech will lead the solemn commemoration of the Lord’s Supper at 6.30 p.m.
On Good Friday, Mgr Grech will lead the celebration of the Lord’s Passion at 4 p.m.
On Holy Saturday, Mgr Grech will lead the celebration of Easter Vigil at 8 p.m.
On Easter Sunday, he will concelebrate Mass with the Cathedral Chapter at 6 p.m.
• Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue will be shown at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 6 p.m.
• The Institute for Tourism Studies in Qala will be open to the public today between 12.30 and 6 p.m.
• A procession, featuring a Good Friday pageant by children, will be held at Our Lady of Victory church in Xagħra today at 6 p.m.
• The Gozo Diocese will tomorrow commemorate the first anniversary of Pope Benedict’s visit to Malta and the presentation of the Rosa d’Oro to the Ta’ Pinu painting. Mgr Grech will lead a concelebrated Mass at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary at 6.30 p.m. The Nativitas choir will take part.
• A Lectio Divina about the Passion and Death of Christ according to the Gospel of Matthew will be held at the Cana Centre in Victoria tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday at 8.30 p.m.
• Holy Week functions at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will include the solemn celebration of the Last Supper on Maundy Thursday at 6 p.m. and the commemoration of the Passion of Christ on Good Friday at 3.30 p.m. On Easter Saturday, Mgr Grech will lead a Marian celebration at 9 a.m. An Easter vigil of prayer will start at 8.30 p.m.
• Holy Week services in English will be held at the Sacred Heart Seminary, Enrico Mizzi Street, Victoria. Maundy Thursday: Mass at 5.30 p.m., Good Friday: service at 3 p.m., Easter Vigil: Mass at 8 p.m., Easter Sunday: Mass at 10 a.m. Car park available opposite the seminary.
